It was established as Gazi University School of Civil Aviation by publishing the official gazette dated 11 July 1992. Kastamonu University, which was established in 2006, has appointed the Director and the Secretary of School on 13.06.2011, and since then, an intensive study has been attempted to establish the academic staff required.

The departments of the school are;

Department of Aviation Management
Department of Air Frame and Power-plant Maintenance
Department of Avionics

With the investments made in recent years in the field of aviation, Turkey is progressively becoming an aviation hub linking east and west.
When all this is thought, in the field of aviation which is the leading sector of the global economy, it should be highlighted that the human resource which is research oriented, innovative, and well trained is one of the most significant element to run safe air transportation throughout the world.
